Valve’s recent “update” of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CSGO) with Counter-Strike 2 has sparked discontent within the Counter-Strike community. Despite being positioned as the next generation of Counter-Strike, the release of Counter-Strike 2 in early September has resulted in widespread criticism from both casual and elite players.
Counter-Strike 2 has now garnered the dubious title of being Valve’s worst-rated game on Steam, surpassing all historic reviews accumulated by CSGO over the years. Notably, Counter-Strike 2 essentially took over CSGO’s store page on Steam following its global release.
The discontent is evident in the reviews on Steam, where Counter-Strike 2 holds a “Mixed” rating, with nearly one million reviews categorized as negative. Numerous issues have been raised by players, including hitbox problems, server concerns related to the “sub tick” structure, an overall simplified platform, and an increased presence of cheaters.
Oleksandr ‘s1mple’ Kostyliev, a professional player, publicly criticized CS2, advising players to refrain from joining the game for a few months due to the prevalent teething issues.
Are you facing challenges with CS2, or is your experience with the game entirely satisfactory?
