NASCAR has announced a multi-year partnership with Samsung, integrating the tech giant’s cutting-edge display technology into its race officiating process for the 2025 season. This collaboration marks Samsung’s expansion beyond Formula 1, further solidifying its presence in the motorsports industry. The partnership will bring advanced visual solutions to NASCAR Productions, enhancing race monitoring and decision-making capabilities.
At the heart of the new setup is Samsung’s massive The Wall display, measuring 32 by 9 feet and installed inside the control room at NASCAR’s production facility in Concord, North Carolina. This high-resolution screen will be a key tool for 24 NASCAR officials tasked with monitoring races, reviewing data, and analyzing real-time video feeds. The system will integrate with SBG Sports Software, allowing officials to assess replays and access critical data from multiple sources, including onboard cameras, electronic control units (ECUs), and optical tracking cameras.
In addition to The Wall, Samsung has equipped NASCAR’s race control center with an array of high-performance monitors. Twenty-five ViewFinity S6 monitors and seven Odyssey G9 ultra-wide curved displays will provide additional viewing angles and improved visualization, enabling race officials to track every detail of the competition. These displays will be used to oversee pit stops, start and finish lines, restart zones, and other key areas of the track.
The new system is designed to enhance NASCAR’s Pit Road Officiating (PRO) operations, ensuring that officials can accurately monitor crucial moments during races. By integrating Samsung’s technology, NASCAR aims to improve the speed and accuracy of race officiating, reducing the likelihood of errors and ensuring fair competition. The advanced monitoring capabilities will also provide better insight into vehicle performance and track conditions, contributing to overall race safety.
NASCAR’s upgraded control room is set to be fully operational in time for the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series, which begins on February 2. This partnership underscores NASCAR’s commitment to technological innovation, leveraging Samsung’s expertise to refine its officiating process and enhance the overall viewing experience for fans and teams alike.
