Niantic is introducing a new trial feature for Pokémon GO called the GO Pass, aimed at expanding reward opportunities for players. Launching on April 1 at 10 a.m. local time, the GO Pass will be available in selected regions until May 6. This system allows trainers to complete in-game tasks to earn rewards and level up their pass tier. The GO Pass follows the format of earlier event-based passes, such as the one introduced for the recent Unova-themed GO Tour.
The GO Pass comes in two tiers: a free version and a deluxe paid version. Both allow players to earn XP, Stardust, Pokémon encounters, and items such as Poké Balls and Candy by completing assigned challenges. However, the deluxe version offers additional exclusive items, including Premium Battle Passes, Lucky Eggs, Incubators, and encounters with more rare Pokémon. One standout reward is the Lucky Trinket, which temporarily makes a friend a Lucky Friend, guaranteeing the next trade will yield a Lucky Pokémon.
Each GO Pass level also unlocks special milestone rewards. Tier 1 doubles the duration of the Daily Adventure Incense, Tier 2 increases XP and Stardust from Research Breakthroughs, and Tier 3 boosts those same rewards from hatching Eggs. All earned rewards, whether from the free or deluxe pass, must be claimed by May 8 at 10 a.m. local time.
April is shaping up to be a busy month for Pokémon GO, with several events lined up alongside the GO Pass. From April 9 to 14, the Spring to Spring event will introduce new Pokémon like Gossifleur and Eldegoss to the game. Players can also encounter shiny versions of Fletchling and Remoraid, along with other featured wild spawns, including Growlithe and different forms of Exeggutor.
In addition, the April Fool’s Day event on April 1 will scatter Poke Balls across the map, each containing surprise encounters. Trainers may find themselves facing Pokémon such as various forms of Voltorb and Electrode, Foongus, Amoongus, and Galarian Stunfisk. With multiple updates and events, April marks a significant period of experimentation and engagement in Pokémon GO’s ongoing evolution.
