The company plans to use the funds to develop “Port Alpha,” a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility dedicated to producing autonomous warships. This latest investment places Saronic among the most valuable defense tech startups in the U.S., trailing industry leader Anduril and potentially Shield AI, which is reportedly seeking a $5 billion valuation.
The funding round was led by prominent investor Elad Gil, with additional backing from General Catalyst and existing supporters like Andreessen Horowitz, 8VC, and Caffeinated Capital.
