- World’s Thinnest Foldable: Oppo Find N5 debuts as the slimmest foldable flagship at just 8.93mm when folded.
- Powerful AI & Performance: Features Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and DeepSeek R1 AI for advanced reasoning and search.
- Long-Lasting Battery: Equipped with a 5,600mAh battery supporting 50W wireless fast charging for extended use.
Oppo has officially launched the Find N5, introducing what it claims to be the world’s thinnest foldable flagship phone. Measuring just 8.93mm in thickness when folded, the device features cutting-edge hardware, including the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and a 5,600mAh battery with 50W wireless fast charging. The Find N5 also integrates DeepSeek R1, a Chinese AI processing platform designed to rival global AI models.
The phone’s ultra-thin profile is made possible by a custom-built titanium alloy hinge, developed using advanced 3D printing technology. The manufacturing process involves melting aerospace-grade titanium alloy at 1,700°C and refining it into micron-sized particles before laser printing. The hinge has received TÜV Rheinland certification for its near-invisible crease, making the Find N5 the first foldable device to meet this strict durability standard.
Battery life is another key selling point, with Oppo stating that the 5,600mAh battery can sustain up to eight hours of video calls or 24 hours of continuous film playback. The Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset provides high-performance computing, while DeepSeek R1 enables AI-powered functions such as advanced reasoning and real-time online search. The Find N5 will be available globally from February 26, with prices starting at RMB 8,999 ($1,241) for the base model.
Oppo’s latest launch comes amid growing competition in China’s foldable smartphone market, where brands like OnePlus, Huawei, Honor, and Vivo have also begun integrating AI models like DeepSeek. Despite a 30.8% year-on-year increase in foldable phone shipments in 2024, the market saw a decline of 9.6% in the fourth quarter. Huawei currently leads the segment with nearly 50% market share, while Oppo holds a 5.3% share.
With the Find N5, Oppo aims to position itself at the forefront of foldable smartphone innovation. The combination of a slim design, cutting-edge AI integration, and robust battery life highlights the company’s efforts to compete in a rapidly evolving market where AI and foldable technology are becoming key differentiators.
